Due to the circumference of their trunks, these two specimens are considered to be the largest in Extremadura and in Spain.
The chestnut trees of Escondelobo or Condelobo belong to the Castanea sativa species and can be found in the Sierra de San Bernabé, in the municipality of Casas del Castañar (Cáceres). They are remarkable in that they are the largest in both Extremadura and Spain, as their respective trunks have a circumference of 9.21 and 10.77 metres.
