The perfect place to try this delicacy from the dehesa pastures
Sierra de Fuentes is one of the 19 towns on the Montánchez Ham Route, the region in which it is located. If you are following the route, this town is well worth a stop to enjoy some DO Dehesa de Extremadura ham in a different setting.
And if you are interested in ornithology, this is one more reason to stop in Sierra de Fuentes, as it is an area for birdwatching and has been declared an SPA (Special Protection Area) for birds.
You can find full information about birdwatching here
In Sierra de Fuentes you can also visit the “Los Hornos” Environmental Education and Fauna Recovery Centre.
