  • The town of Serradilla, in the province of Cáceres, is steeped in age-old tradition that is best expressed through its fiestas and its heritage.

Located in the province of Cáceres, the famous town of Serradilla dates back to the 4th century B.C. when it was little more than an olive grove officially declared a village by King Philip II.

The town is steeped in history, which you can discover for yourselves by strolling along the main street, the San Antonio area and the "Barrio Alto". Its rich heritage includes the 15th century parish church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, the convent of El Santísimo Cristo de la Victoria, the 18th century chapels of San Antonio de Padua, Santa Ana, Santa Catalina and Santa Bárbara, and a series of fountains built in the traditional local style, such as Los Grifos, Nueva, Huertas and Capillo.

Serradilla also upholds many age-old traditions, such as La Procesión de Los Faroles (The Procession of the Lanterns) and the El Rosario de la Aurora (Rosary recitation).

The town also attracts many visitors due to the fact that it is located on the edge of the Monfragüe National Park.
