A 13th-century tower of Islamic origin and a 15th-century fortress make up this castle, which owes much of its relevance to the Ulloa family.
Perched on a small hill in the south of the municipality of Torreorgaz, is the castle of Cachorro, a fortress constructed from the 13th to the 15th century.
The tower is built of ashlars and is of Muslim origin. It was erected in the 13th century and acquired by the Ulloa family, who formed the Torreorgaz estate in the late 15th century. The owner, Don Diego García de Ulloa, ordered a series of rooms to be constructed in ashlar masonry beside the tower. Together the tower from the Islamic period and the fortress form the castle as we know it today.
Its name comes from the nickname of Don Gonzalo Ulloa y Carvajal, the fourth lord of Torreorgaz, "El Cachorro".
At present only some vestiges remain and it is still private property, although one can still discern some of the charm and sobriety of the tower and fortress.
