The tower of this ancestral home is the biggest attraction of the palace of the Bachiller Juan Martínez, located in the municipality of Jerez de los Caballeros in the province of Badajoz.
The palace of the Bachiller Juan Martínez de Logroño, which dates back to the 15th century, is in Jerez de los Caballeros. Its biggest attraction is a tower that forms part of what was the ancestral home of this family who were originally from La Rioja, but who put down roots in this municipality in Badajoz province from this moment on. Other remarkable features of this palace are two beautiful mullioned windows with the blazons of the family lineage.
Because Jerez de los Caballeros has a wealth of architecture, as several cultures have settled in this region, such as Phoenicians, Romans, Muslims and Christians. But without a doubt the most relevant historical periods are those related to the Order of the Temple, which made a deep mark on this place.
